ReAct+ Funding
If you live in Wales and have become unemployed or made redundant in the last 12 months, or are subject to a notice of redundancy, you could be eligible for funded training. ReAct+ or ReAct Plus is a Welsh Government scheme that has been put in place to help support people who have been made redundant (or recently become unemployed) to retrain or increase their skills to enable them to get back to work.
What is ReAct+?
ReAct+ is a funding scheme operated by Careers Wales on behalf of Welsh Government. It is open to residents of Wales who have been made redundant or unemployed (for whatever reason) in the last 12 months. They offer grant funding to cover the cost of retraining or learning a new skill that will enable you to get back working.
How much funding can I receive?
The ReAct+ scheme entitles you to funding for up to 100% (max £1,500) of training costs. Welsh Government is exempt from paying VAT which means that ALL of our courses cost less than £1,500 ex VAT, and are therefore eligible for funding of the entire course fees. ReAct+ can also help towards travelling costs for attending your course, in some instances overnight accommodation, and childcare for while you attend your course.
What is the eligibility criteria?
Funding through the ReAct+ Scheme is available for individuals who are all of the following;
- Live in Wales
- Are over the age of 18
- Have the right to live and work in the UK
Individuals must also meet one of the following criteria;
- Been made redundant in the last 12 months
- Become unemployed in the last 12 months
- Under a formal notice of redundancy
What additional funding is available?
On top of the Vocational Training Grant - Up to £1,500 to help you get the relevant skills you need, the following can also be included:
- Up to £4,550 to help cover childcare/caring costs when you’re training
- Up to £500 of personal development support to help remove barriers to employment – Personal Development Support
Mentoring and work experience - Up to £300 of extra support towards additional costs when you’re training, including travel and accommodation
How do I apply?
You first need to speak with a careers advisor at Careers Wales. They have offices all over Wales so there is likely to be one near to you. They can also take appointments over the phone. You can find their contact details on the Working Wales React+ website.
As soon as your eligibility has been confirmed, your careers advisor will give you a list of information needed for your application. When you are ready, contact us at info@uktilingcourses.co.uk or on 0333 772 1933 and we will be happy to provide all of the information you require for your funding application.
Which courses can I receive funding for?
ALL of our courses are eligible for 100% funding by ReAct+. Even our longest and most comprehensive 13 Day Expert Tiling Course is 100% covered by the grant at £1,499.17 ex VAT.
We have assisted many of our students with applying for ReAct+ funding, and attending our course using the grant funding. While the above information is correct at the time of writing, eligibility is assessed by Working Wales and they should be contacted for up-to-date details.
