Background
Rhod attended our 9 Day Advanced Intensive Tiling Course back in 2021. He was working shifts and looking to learn a new skill to enable him to create a profitable business in his time off. He had no previous experience of tiling apart from completing a DIY job in his own home that he admitted would have gone a whole lot smoother if he had completed the course before attempting it.

After completing the course Rhod set up his company Blackwood Professional Tiling and started out on his own immediately. He’s been at it now for years and has built a successful and highly-rated tiling company through hard work and attention to detail.

The course flew by, it's fast paced and you're hands on pretty much from the very start, which is great. That said, you're not thrown in at the deep end - you start slow and they build up the complexity. The course is very methodically designed and there's always help on hand from Henry and Chris. You'll experience everything you need to know in order to get going in the real world.
The course material provided which you get to keep is very helpful too, and I still refer back to it now, four years on from finishing the course. Everything from technique, prep and running your business is in there. It's like my bible!
The business day at the end of week one is exceptional. That day gives you a head start over the competition when it comes to launching your business and staying relevant, and the tips and tricks covered help to keep the bookings and enquiries coming in.
Since finishing the course I setup my company and went on my own immediately. I felt the course gave me everything I needed to tackle a project straight away. I took my time at the start as you have to get it right first time, and being careful and methodical certainly pays off. I've been busy ever since completing the course, and I’m making a good living. Another thing to note is the post course support. Henry is only an email away and always quick with a response with the answers you need. I email him less these days as I've grown my own experience and expertise but there's still occasions where I drop an email his way.
About the course
This is our two week course. It includes all of the practical training from our 4 Day Professional Tiling Course, along with the business, marketing and background preparation knowledge from our 1 Day Course. The second week of this course covers increasingly advanced tiling skills and problem solving, including learning about tanking, setting out and installing tiles in wetrooms.
